Excellent sound and picture quality even when playing standard DVD's. and the quiet motor does not distract viewing pleasure. The funky design with it's shiny black finish would enhance any room. Once I plugged in an ethernet cable this player offered an inexpensive way to convert my TV to a Smart one. Opening up a gate-way to effortless HD streaming of Netflix, Lovefilm, plus catch-up like BBC iplayer, also Facebook, YouTube, and World Web radio, etc. One niggle and not a minor one, Sony have still not resolved the fact that this player will not receive channel 4's On-Demand service. Apart from this I would give it full marks.Legendary service
