With a consistent steam output of up to 45 grams per minute powered by a 2400 watt element, the PowerLife will smooth out pesky wrinkles in your fabrics. Melt away the most stubborn creases with the steam boost, delivering up to 180 grams of steam permeating deeper into your fabric.

With a built-in calc-clean slider, this iron benefits from a built-in cleaning function to remove limescale and ensure it can continue to function at its best. The safety auto-off feature will turn off the iron after eight minutes of inactivity if left on the heelrest or thirty seconds if on the soleplate.

Automatic shut-off when iron is left unattended

The iron shuts itself off if you leave it standing still. On its heel rest, it will automatically switch off in 8 minutes. Lying flat, it shuts down after 30 seconds motionless.

    Easiest iron to use, EVER!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, its incredibly easy to use! The iron warms up within 30 seconds and is ready to use, which is a big thing for me as i like to iron things quickly. The steam function is great, works perfectly and leaves absolutely zero creases, also doesn't drip water like a-lot of other irons. One of the biggest positives (for me) is how long the cord is, its really long!

    Below average
Very expensive Iron with very little to offer, too much plastic, cannot see to fill water tank due to tint of plastic, gone back to a 3m cord (too long, trip hazard). After 33 years of Philips Iron's and no other make, this is the worst it is expensive cheap tack.

Great for ironing ... design not good.
Recently bought this despite others concerns about dark water tank. It does iron really well & is quite lightweight. However, the design of the black case DOES make it difficult to see water level. You have to either shake it, tilt it or hold it up to see water level & the opening goes from left to right, so isn't the easiest to fill from a jug - ok if from a tap. So, if you are not fussed about those issues - go ahead & buy it, but it needed a more visible water tank & then it most certainly would have been 5* for all categories.
