I wanted a less noisy kettle than the one I have - this one is marginally quieter but not by much. However, it has a bell (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) that pings when you remove it from the base, when you put it back on and when it boils.... what is the point, I wish you could turn it off as the kettle looks nice.

Lovely design shape but overboils before automatic switch off, causing excessive steam production
